Someone once described the year as a breath with the exhale occurring from June to December, and the exhale from December through June.
The solstices are the pause between the inhale and exhale.
At 11:26 EST today, Nature stops exhaling and starts to take a nice, big, deep breath. I plan on joining in.
Sometimes rituals are long and involved. Sometimes they are no longer than a moment. This breath, this noticing, is one of the ones that only takes a moment.
So, whenever this post finds you, wherever you may be, take part in a ritual and breathe for a moment. Give thanks for the privilege of another breath.
And in that instance between exhale and inhale, notice the pause...and the desire for more. Connect with what you desire more of, and then let it go with an exhale of breath.
So mote it be.
