Tell us about your practice.

Coloring is all the rage these days. In fact, a search of “adult coloring books” on Amazon yielded 7,111 results! Coloring is awesome, but I believe that the real power comes when we color with intention. For me this means setting an intention, choosing a mandala that holds the energy of that intention, and then coloring with possibility, purpose and a heart wide open.

The best way to explain this is to share an example from my own life.

Mandala in Sanskrit means “container of sacred essence.” Think of the mandala as a beautiful vessel designed to hold the essence of whatever energy is poured into it.

Tell us about your practice.

When things feel a little off in the house, when one of us is sick, or not sleeping well, when I’m seeing too many tell-tale motions in my peripheral vision, when I’ve got too many guests hanging out (unseen), when I’ve had family visit that unsettled the house energy, I do a house cleansing and blessing.

I light palo santo wood and grab a large feather and begin at the front door and move counterclockwise through my house, using the feather to waft the wood smoke into every corner and trace every door and window.

Lisa D'Alession works with women around the world to heal their relationship with their body.

Tell us about your practice.

I love to smile and I find it really easy to see the best in all things (whether that be people or situations) and so now, while I often times do it without even thinking about it, if the day is feeling cranky or a bit off, I take a deep breath, remind myself that I’m the queen of silver linings, and then look for the silver lining (or the silly thing to smile about!) in whatever situation I’m in.
