My LEGO minifig collection is set up in vignettes, like Jane and Tarzan and their family of chimps, or the gay hippies with their flowers on their commune. And of course there are all the monsters at the Monster Mash!
Joan Borysenko suggests looking at who you were at 12-years-old in order to learn about who you are as a grown woman. (It has to do with being on the cusp of adulthood, before all the damage of growing up teaches us to hide our true selves.) When I was 12, I had a headboard with a built-in shelf. That shelf housed my family of dollhouse mice. They were made of rabbit fur and had clothes. There was one styled on Reepicheep from Narnia who had commitment issues – his toothpick sword was tucked up into an embroidery thread belt. There was the gentle homebody who loved him, in her blue floral dress and her push pin knitting needles. |
Joan Borysenko would have a field day with this memory – the joy I took in creating spaces for others, or the pleasure I found in making their small treasures, like the full set of dishes made of acorn tops.
What stands out are the stories.
It was the stories I wove around them, their trials, their internal struggles, and most importantly, their eventual growth.
Fast forward 35+ years.
I make stories. Only now it’s not with Minifigs or mice, it’s with Tarot cards.
The cards speak to me in stories. They show me themes, hint at subtext. I love to weave together the threads, piecing together the wisdom within a reading. There are still trials, internal struggle, and usually – hopefully – eventual growth.
It’s a story that needs to heard. Sometimes it’s a pat on the back and sometimes it’s a kick in the ass. Almost always it comes with suggestions and practices that supplement the story I find there.
Is there a story you need to hear? Because I'm now offering Tarot Write-Ups.
As with my Ritual Write-Ups, beautiful images reinforce the messages being sent.
And lastly, a write-up lets me add resources and suggestions for you, all in one place. (Doesn’t hurt that you’ll also have a hard copy to refer back to as desired, or even print up and paste into your journal!)
What story do you need to hear? What story can the cards tell you? Order your Tarot Write-Up today and I'll email you back to find out if there's anything in particular to focus on. Then, in a few days (4-7ish) I'll send you your Write-Up.
