If you’re already feeling frazzled, how much worse is that “conversation” going to go?
Let’s talk honestly for a moment. The holidays are fraught with difficulties. This has always been true; it’s doubly so with our current political climate.
Because if you don’t have something, your holiday may run roughshod over you. Consumerism, perfectionist tendencies, over-committing and over promising, and unrealistic expectations will get the better of you, leaving you feeling disappointed and down.
It could even devolve into the horror show that was the blow-out with my in-laws last year. (After too much time socializing and running myself ragged for weeks, voices were raised, tears were shed, and not one but TWO doors were slammed. It was a doozy. I do not recommend this route.)
What you need is twofold.
You need an intention for how you want to feel, and you need a game plan for how to get there and stay there.
The best way to get this is to join me for Calming the Holiday Crazies, a 2 ½ hour call to get you ready for whatever the holidays have in store for you.
