We do what we can, right? We hold onto the thread as best we can. Sometimes it slides through our fingers and we just barely keep a hold.
And it's okay.
It has to be okay, because it is what it is, and no amount of fighting against that is ever going to change it. So, I practice going with it. Some call it Acceptance. Some call it Surrender. Call it what you will, just practice....
I had a horrible case of laryngitis during "weekend" 5. I don't like not being able to talk but I made the best of it. I spent the day on Thursday exploring living with "No words" and what that means. No words from me. No words from books, No words from my stories on the TV. | |
But I DID connect with two writers! Because part of developing a Writerly Self is connecting with other writers!
First up was Theresa who launched a brilliant and bold new website on November 1st! I'm a sucker for retellings (um, hello...Maggie's story is a retelling of the Christ tale after all!) and Theresa is doing it with cleverness and a desire to empower women and girls. Read her stuff: start with Red Riding Hood - so apropos for this time of year!

Personally, I can't wait. But I must.
Because, as I said when I started this post, it is what it is, and no amount of fighting against that is ever going to change it. So, I'm practicing.
And next week is a new week. The Universe is already sending me messages to keep the faith and, as Sheila says each week in The Round TUIT Writing Circle (now defunct) "Just keep starting."
