3 Ways to Navigate Your Growing Edges

It snuck up on me again.  This growing thing.  And the friction of being at my growing edge, like that damned oyster and her pearls.  (I wonder if oysters complain as much as I do about pushing past my boundaries??)

What's a girl to do?

Here's a few ideas for you for when you come to your own growing edges:
Pearl of Wisdom Number 1:  Journal with it!
I do not ask to walk smooth paths nor bear an easy load. I pray for strength and fortitude to climb the rock-strewn road. Give me such courage and I can scale the headiest peaks alone, And transform every stumbling block into a stepping stone. by Gail Brook Burket
Use the ritual framework, and create sacred space by writing a candle and using the poem Stepping Stone by Gail Brook Burket.  Read it aloud or copy it directly into your journal.

Then, take to the page.
  • What is it you want?
  • Who do you want to be?
  • What changes do you want to make and to what hoped for outcome?
  • Or ask The Question:  What wouldst Thou have me do?  (h/t Christina Baldwin)

Pearl of Wisdom Number 2: Use this ritual to let go of the past
This will work through damage from the past and open up huge amounts of room for you to move forward. The ritual  journaling from number 1 helps you know what to release as well as what wants to grow.

Pearl of Wisdom Number 3: NATURE!
When you're growing there's a huge quantity of information coming in and integrating all that information is vital.

Mindfully integrating all this information is vitally important for two reasons:

1. Missing the mindfulness means our learning is a hodgepodge.  We don't really know where we've come from.  We don't really know where we are.  And knowing where you're going?  No way...

2.Not being mindful about it leads to overwhelm!  When you're overwhelmed it is miserable, you are miserable, and life is that much harder.  Avoid this!

Seriously.  Go lay down in the grass!  It'll help.  I pinky swear.

Just keep praying for those pearls of wisdom.
Remember, this growth thing is what living intentionally is all about.  Even, and maybe especially, when it sucks.
